The R&A unveiled its new Women in Golf Charter in May 2018 as part of the organisation’s global drive to increase the number of women and girls participating in golf and to encourage more opportunities for women to work within the golf industry.
The Women in Golf Charter intends to inspire an industry-wide commitment to developing a more inclusive culture within golf around the world and enable more women and girls to flourish and maximise their potential at all levels of the sport.
The West Kilbride GC was the first golf club in Scotland to sign up to the charter. We have committed to:
1. Making the switch to peak tee-times available to female members e.g Saturday mornings
2. Implementing recruitment initiatives targeting women and girls, such as Love Golf and Get into Golf
3. Committing to increasing female membership within our Strategy Document
Representatives from Scottish Golf visited the Club on 2nd April 2019.
